Zip files save time and space, and make downloading documents faster. They can also contain more than one document.
To be able to open and read the contents of a zip file you need special software such as StuffIt Expander. This is free and available for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris. It can be downloaded from the StuffIt Expander website.
