Suspension to the issue of SL1 Start and SL2 Stop notices

In the period 15 February to 10 April 2008 we are suspending the issue of student loan notices. This is being done to support the implementation of legislative changes coming in on 6 April which will abolish the 42 day lead in time used when applying student loan notices to payroll.

During this period we would normally issue notices which impact on employers for both 2007/2008 current year updates, and for new starts who are due to commence repayments in 2008/2009. As the payroll application rules differ for the two years and to avoid any confusion you may have at this time we will suspend the issue of notices until after 6 April.

Notices received after 7 April 2008 will be in the new format and you will be asked to action them in accordance with the guidance published in the 2008 E17 and your Employers CD-ROM. You will not be asked to operate the new guidance before then.
