PAYE Month 8 - period ending 5th December 2007. If you pay electronically HMRC must receive your payment by 22nd of the month. But as the 22nd December 2007 is a non-banking day, we must receive cleared funds no later than Friday 21st December 2007.

The last day for initiating payment is therefore -

Wednesday 19 December if you pay by telephone or Internet banking, BACS Direct Credit, Bank Giro or Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank, or by Friday 21st December if you pay by CHAPS.

Your bank or building society may take longer to process the payment, and will have a cut-off time for initiating a payment on a particular day. You will have to contact your bank or building society to see when your payment should be made.
