April 2010

5 April

  • You must send your Employer Annual Return (form P14s and P35) for 2009-10 online. Penalties may be charged if you send them on paper.

6 April

  • Check you have made all necessary changes to your employee's tax codes for 2010-11 as explained on P9X.
  • Please ensure you use the new Taxable Pay Tables B to D from today.
  • If you have a computerised payroll- make sure you have updated your payroll parameters.

April - mid to end

  • If you recently registered to use PAYE Online for Employers, look out for your User ID and Activation PIN – you must activate the service within 28 days.

19 April

  • Cheque payments for month/quarter ended 5 April should reach your Accounts Office by this date.
  • Last date for any outstanding cheque payments for PAYE and Class 1 NICs for 2009-10 to reach your Accounts Office. We will charge interest on any payments received after this date.

20 April

  • EmployerTalk event – National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

22 April

  • Electronic payments for month ended 5 April should have cleared into HMRC bank account by this date.
  • Last date for any outstanding PAYE and Class 1 NICs payments for 2009-10 to have cleared into HMRC bank account if you pay by an approved electronic payment method. We will charge interest on any payments received after this date.
