PAYE Online - changes for the better

In the October edition of the Bulletin we told you about some enhancements we were planning to the PAYE Online service to allow employers, and agents authorised to act for them online, to amend certain contact details using the online service.

Users of our PAYE Online service can now view and make amendments online and conduct business with us in a more cost effective manner.

This means you can check and change the information we hold at any time. To update your records online, you need to be registered and enrolled to use our PAYE Online service. Once you have logged into the service, using your User ID and Password, select the link ‘About your organisation’ from your PAYE Online service page.

The changes you provide here will be reflected on your records usually within 48 hours, but this may take longer over a weekend or Bank Holiday.

Employers, and agents authorised to act for them online can now:

  • change the employer’s business address
  • change the employer’s main contact details - telephone, fax number and email address
  • add, change or remove the employer’s trade name
  • add or change the employer’s communication name
  • add or change the employer’s communication address
  • change the employer’s communication contact details - where communication name and address is already held
  • remove all the employer’s communication details (name, address and contact details)

You will not however be able to add/change/delete an agent in this way; you must contact HMRC or your agent can use the Online Agent Authorisation service.
