Budget 2008 - Income Tax Bands and Rates

The Chancellor’s Budget on the 12 March 2008 increased the PAYE Tax Rate Bandwidths.

To reflect the changes, new tax tables have been produced and these should be used from 18 May 2008.

If you buy in software make sure you have an updated 2008-09 version.

There are no changes arising from the Budget that will affect the content of the following:

• P49 - Paying someone for the first time
• P16 – Note to help you with the Simplified Deduction Scheme

We will not be updating the 6 April 2008 versions of the P49 or P16.
