Child Support Agency – Important News

New regulations were introduced from 1 August 2007 allowing the Child Support Agency (CSA) to issue deduction from earnings orders against non-resident parents who live abroad.

The Government has also published a Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill which contains measures to reform the policy and delivery of child maintenance, establish a non-departmental public body to replace the Child Support Agency, simplify the way maintenance is calculated, and provide tougher enforcement powers to collect maintenance arrears.

As an employer you still remain a vital link in the chain to ensure child maintenance is paid. To help you in this role there is a new look website specifically designed to help you. It has the latest information about changes to the child maintenance system and contains detailed information on what you need to do when contacted about one of your employees.
