Software Developers Support Team (SDST)

Following our meetings with excise businesses and software developers who expressed an interest in developing or modifying a software package, the Software Developers Support Team (SDST) have developed the EMCS Technical Pack for Functional Stage 0 ( FSO) which includes a Local Test Service (LTS). If you have any queries or would like to provide feedback on any technical issues please contact the SDST.

An expansion of the technical pack and LTS will be released in early 2009 to include the functionality required for Functional Stage 1 (FS1).

The SDST is your main point of contact within HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) during the development and testing of your product and will provide the following services to software developers:

liaison with the Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) Project Team
dealing with enquiries relating to the technical documentation (eg schema and validation rules)
issuing vendor IDs and testing credentials
provide feedback/advice during testing
assistance with product recognition
ongoing support once the EMCS goes live
