Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Online - software and online forms
A range of Internet filing enabled software and online forms are available from commercial software suppliers or HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). They can be used to file your PAYE forms and returns to us over the Internet. You can choose the product that best suits your needs. We are pleased to accept forms and returns sent using any of the commercial software supplier products listed or HMRC Online Return & Forms - PAYE product.
Some of these products and online forms are free, others you have to pay for.
HMRC provide their own free 'Online Return & Forms - PAYE' service. This will allow you to file End of Year Returns P14, P35, P38A, Domestic Schemes P12, P37, Expenses & Benefits P11D, P11D(b), P9(D), P46 (Car) and other forms such as WNU, P45(1), P45(3), P46. You can also receive PAYE notices and reminders online through the Data Provisioning Service (DPS). We have tested all the features of this service, and will provide support to users through our Online Services Helpdesk. This is one of the available filing options once you have logged on to our Online Services.
HMRC has only tested the ability of commercial software supplier products to either:
a) file a valid form or return (P14, P35, P38A, P45(1), P45(3) P46, WNU, P46(Pen), P46(Expat), P11D, P11D(b), P9D, P46(car)), or
b) retrieve forms (P6, P6B, P9, P35notification, P11D(b) notification, SL1, SL2, Annual Reminders and Incentive Letters) over the internet and has not tested any other features.
The software products shown in the table below have gained internet recognition so have proved the ability to file a valid return or retrieve a form over the Internet. To ensure the software product meets your specific needs, particularly for End of Year filing (P14s and or P35 ), please contact the software developer for further details.
Products that have also been tested for the Payroll Standard Accreditation Scheme, can be viewed on our accredited payroll software products and suppliers page.
