Overview of how to register
Now you'll need to provide some business information.
You must confirm that you have read the terms and conditions for submitting online returns and payments.
You'll be asked to supply your name and create your own password then HMRC will display on screen a unique User ID, You must make a note of this and keep it safe, as you will need it every time you log in to use HMRC Online Services. It will not be displayed again.
You then enrol for your chosen service(s) by entering the necessary details.
For Corporation Tax (CT) this will be your Corporation Tax reference and either one of the following:
- Companies House registration number (CRN)
- the postcode of your registered office or if you don't have a registered office, the postcode of your main business address
You'll need to provide different information for other online services but this will be shown on-screen.
HMRC will display the services you have enrolled for and post an Activation Code (also known as Activation PIN) for services that must be activated.
Finally you activate your services using the Activation Code(s).
Don't worry - all this is explained as you go through the on-screen process.
