Register for VAT - introduction
Register for VAT using our secure system. You can access the system with a User ID and password.
Go to www.online.hmrc.gov.uk/registration and enter your User ID and password.
1. The VAT Online service allows you to:
- submit your VAT Return online and set up a Direct Debit Instruction
- change your registration details
- apply for a VAT registration number
2. You can also:
- set up email alerts to keep you up to date with developments that might affect your business
