• Individual

  You are an individual if you will be using our online services for personal transactions such as Self Assessment, VAT and Child Benefit.

  You are an organisation if you will be using our online services as an employer, organisation or charity operating a PAYE scheme, if you pay Corporation Tax, VAT or if you operate a Partnership or Trust and want to file a Self Assessment return.

You are going to find information in the following pages which will include both text and images. Please don’t worry if you're unable to read the small print on the pictures as we will use text to draw your attention to important parts of the screen. Some text will appear above the picture and more information can often be found below the picture. You may need to scroll down to view the whole page. Where this is necessary you will see a scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen and you should click on the small arrow at the bottom to move down the screen. At the bottom of the page you will also find Previous and Next Buttons. Click on these to navigate through the pages. About the demonstrator pages shows images to support this. Some of the screens in the demonstrator may be slightly different to the screens on your computer. These are minor differences that occur as a result of regular updates and improvements to the online service. As you work through the online demonstrator, you’ll find links to more detailed HM Revenue & Customs guidance. Please bear in mind that following these links may take you out of the demonstrator.
