Do I need to complete a Tax Return?

There are many reasons why you would need to complete a Tax Return. However the following are specifically for seafarers:

1) If you claim Foreign Earnings Deduction (FED) then you must complete the Tax Return to receive any repayment due to you.

2) If you are employed by a Foreign Flag company you must complete a Tax Return whether or not you are claiming FED.
