Gift Aid Transitional Relief
Following on from the announcement about Gift Aid Transitional Relief, Royal Assent to both the Finance Bill and the Appropriation Bill has now been granted. So if your charity has already made a Gift Aid repayment claim on donations received on or after 6 April 2008, we can now pay you the transitional relief in respect of those donations.
If you are entitled to Gift Aid Transitional Relief we will pay it to you automatically and send you an explanation; you do not have to do anything.
From now on, when we make a tax repayment on Gift Aid donations made on or after 6 April 2008, we will automatically pay Gift Aid Transitional Relief (where it is due) in addition to the tax you’ve claimed.
We will make the payments as quickly as we possibly can and your patience is appreciated.
