HMRC Capability Action Plan for 2011-12

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has published its Capability Action Plan for 2011-12, which assesses the department's ability to meet current and future challenges.

The report focuses on three key areas: leadership, customer service and organisational transformation. It contains clear evidence of the actions HMRC has taken to successfully improve performance and sets out how, and where, it will make further improvements.

HMRC Chief Executive Lin Homer said: 'The HMRC that I have just joined as Chief Executive has demonstrably improved its capability and performance in important areas identified in the last Capability Review. We have three big challenges but we are confident of our ability to meet them, and to ensuring that everyone in the UK pays their fair share of tax to fund essential public services'.
