Altering your colours in Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me

If you are having difficulties with the colours displayed on web pages, altering the colours used may improve your experience.

  1. Click 'Start' or press the 'Windows' logo key or press 'Ctrl' + 'Esc'.
  2. Hover over 'Settings' or press 'S'.
  3. Click 'Control Panel' or press 'C'.
  4. Double click on 'Display' or press 'D' until 'Display' is highlighted, and press 'Enter'.
  5. Click the 'Appearance' tab or press 'Ctrl' + 'Tab' until it is at the front.
  6. Below ‘Scheme’ is a drop down box that contains various colour schemes. Click the arrow, and select a new scheme. Or, press 'Alt' + 'S' and use the arrow keys to move through the various schemes and press 'Enter'.
